2021 FIDE World Cup takes place in Sochi, Russia, from July 12 to August 6. 206 of the world’s top players, including the world champion Magnus Carlsen, take part in the competition. The two finalists will qualify for the 2022 Candidates Tournament, in addition to winning the 110.000 USD first prize and 80.000 USD for the runner-up.

The first-ever FIDE Women’s World Cup is taking place in Sochi, Russia, from July 12 to August 4, 2021. It brings together 103 of the world’s top female chess players. The top three finishers qualify for the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament to be held in the first half of 2022.
