Results from round 6:

GM Anand, Viswanathan, India (2797) – GM Baramidze, David, Germany (2594) 1-0

GM Caruana, Fabiano, Italy (2811) – GM Carlsen, Magnus, Norway (2865) draw

GM Bacrot, Etienne, France (2711) – GM Najditsch, Arkadij, Germany (2706) draw

GM Aronian, Levon, Armenia (2777) – GM Adams, Michael, England (2738) draw

The only winner in this round was Anand who after his two losses managed to beat the tailender Baramidze in a Spanish game with the move 16.Be3 in one of the main lines of the Breyer variation. Black made the mistake of rushing to fast with his c-pawn and that decided the game. Carlsen and Najditsch played draws in their games and are still in the lead. Tomorrow they will both have the white pieces but Carlsen has on the paper the easier opponent.
